The Foundation
THE GIANFRANCO MEGGIATO FOUNDATION OF ART AND CULTURE
This non-profit foundation exclusively pursues objectives of general interest in
cultural and artistic fields.
The Foundation undertakes international activities with an indefinite duration.
The aims of the Foundation include the following initiatives:
- The creation of a museum for the study, conservation and valorization of Gianfranco Meggiato's work.
- The promotion of studies, organization of cultural debates and conferences, publication of magazines or books in fields such as culture, literature and criticism concerning contemporary art.
- The creation of an award for artists in the visual arts field.
- Information and promotion of relationships with leading museums and organizations on an international scale to spread awareness of Gianfranco Meggiato's work and the attainment of the foundation's objectives, including the possible loan, exchange, donation or sale of works.
- The organization and implementation of guided tours, workshops, courses and events of various kinds to encourage dialogue with the public at large and provide an opportunity to learn about contemporary art and culture focusing on children, teenagers and adults, with a special emphasis on people with disabilities, all in collaboration with education and teaching centres as well as institutional entities.
- Valorization of the local area where the Gianfranco Meggiato Foundation of Art and Culture is based, namely the Canary Islands, throughout the world by disseminating the foundation's cultural activities on an international scale.
- Initiatives to being together art, culture, architecture, science, music, philosophy, spirituality and aspects concerning the protection of the environment and nature, as well as social issues relating to peace and respect for diversity. These efforts will be achieved through events, publications, installations, exhibitions, concerts, conferences and collaborations with religious, scientific, institutional entities, etc.
